UH Fashion Show 2017

Tuesday 16th May 2017

Fashion events are often a high stakes environment, where every aspect of the show must be pulled off with precision. As the official AV supplier to the University Of Hertfordshire’s Fashion Show at Chelsea Town Hall, we provided the technical solutions to make sure this event went off without a hitch.

Taking place in Chelsea Town Hall, this was the second year we supplied production for the UH Fashion Show. Working with Tony Rosella (Head of Fashion School), we developed ideas from the previous year to include a catwalk, and decided to enhance the lighting rig to highlight the new set.

Design

Providing lighting & structure design services, as well as provisioning a comprehensive technical plan, Vortex events delivered the show from concept to delivery alongside our clients to great feedback.

The venue was only available to us on the day, so the load-in, setup, show and de-rig took places in under 16 hours:

Using a stretch of litedeck, we installed a 10m long catwalk in the centre of the room.

Lighting is a critical element at a fashion show – and we provided the essential illumination to the designers creations with a variety of source 4 lighting fixtures, as well as atmospheric lighting with our LED parcans around the venue.

We provided high brightness 55″ LCD screens to display content either side of the catwalk. In addtion to this, we installed multiple preview monitors backstage to monitor the action out front, with an aerial view provided by a Sony BRC300 Robocam we installed in the truss.

We also provided a comprehensive Comms system to make sure everyone in the show team was together delivering the show.

Audio was provided from our L’Acoustics DvDosc Line array, and Pioneer playback equipment, as well as Sennheiser G3 Wireless Equipment.
