The Screen Space 2020 was our response to the restricted summer we all had to endure. The aim was to produce a new socially distanced event that would ensure we all could be entertained while enjoying the great outdoors. We worked closely with the local environmental authorities to make this production happen in recored time. This included Covid risk assessments, day tot day monitoring and staff training sessions to ensure we warred doing everything we could to keep our audiences safe.
We were the first event company in the country to pioneer Social distancing circles and featured the largest outdoor screen in the country, with great feedback from all parties involved. There was no doubt the project was a huge success and we are looking forward to bring it back in 2021! The venue praised our production staff and security for their efficient safe management of our audiences.

Design
Careful planning and design was necessary to not only ensure the safety of our audiences but also the technical success of the event. The size and height of the screen was critical to allow a comfortable and safe experience. Our screen size of 120m2 and over 3m of lower clearance made viewing from any distance easy and enjoyable.
Unaffected by the record breaking sunny days British weather, delivering a high quality reproduction of each film. A perfectly sound system was used to project sound across the space to cater for the 500 capacity. We also provided a goal post truss structure complete with all the necessary ballast and wind bracing for sign off.
Support
Working together with the onsite front of house team, Vortex events provided an experienced, a project manager was available throughout the event, as well as onsite security. An LED technician and Sound Engineer were also made available with a complete technical crew from setup, operation and pack down of the event, with minimal disruptions to the local community as well as the heritage site grounds. It was once again an unforgettable experience blessed with beautiful sunny days.
