The Glade Stage
In previous years the Glade stage at Glastonbury has seen various types of light up decor had been installed. This year it was time for something different… Working together with Production manager Mark Parsons we were set a challenge to achieve a unique look for the G Stage structure. We proposed using our Element Labs Stealth product in a most unusual way. A series of 1 x 1 x 1 Stealth Cubes hung from the large roof supports over the crowd.
To give video a more tangible quality, and bring it away from the two dimensional format which it is more often than not attached to is a challenge – but this concept breaks that barrier, and makes the video delivery a spectacle in itself.
After being given the go ahead we Fabricated 30 of these cubes and started making custom content for them, as well as programming everything into our Resolume media servers. The cubes within the event space have Low resolution video content mapped over all of them as well and content mapped onto each face. The results were impressive; an enveloping environment controlled to the beat by our VJ’s to create a unique experience for all of the festival goers. Plans to create new shapes to keep this new look fresh for the glade stage 2015 are already under way.
