St. Albans Fashion Week
One of the most historic heritage sites in St Albans, the spectacular Cathedral, was transformed by Vortex Events into a truly stunning fashion show for St.Albans Fashion Week. St Albans Cathedral has the longest Nave in the country, which means that we were able to build a 30m catwalk, a phenomenally long span, which is one of the longest seen in the UK.
We were very proud to be able to help out in out in the local community and we provided everything needed to make this fashion show a real success. Using our wide range of knowledge and experience drawn from setting up for shows over the last 10 years, we advised on all the technical aspects and created a 3D design of the setup prior to the show for the client.
Vortex Events provided a full lighting rig including a 140m truss structure and 80 profile lights to light the catwalk, a series of Funktion One F1201 and F218 mk2 speakers positioned discretely down the length of the room providing a powerful intelligible sound system, coms package, powerful Resolume media servers to run the video on two projection screens and all the staging needed for the 30m catwalk.
A total of 6 technical crew had to work very hard during this set up. We had to work around all the usual religious services and stick to a strict time schedule, our professional approach had to be second to none in this fragile historic building, but we still delivered a transformation to the space, with an aesthetic perfectly suited to a fashion event.
